FAQ

Login does not work

There are four things you need to know:
  1. the login data are case-sensitive,
  2. the password is that of your URZ-account [?], and
  3. SignUp uses data from the central administration.
  4. a German umlaut (Ä, ä, Ö, ö, Ü, ü, ß) in your password may make login impossible. Please change your URZ-password so that it contains no special characters.
Take care to spell your name with an uppercase first letter. Check the spelling of your name with your immatriculation pass. (If your name is misspelled there, you will have to misspell it, too, in order to log in).

I forgot my password

Make sure that your password is spelled correctly (the password-check, too, is case sensitive).
If you are sure that you really forgot your password, you will have to ask the URZ for help.

'Invalid Session'

If you can log in, but then get error messages about 'invalid sessions,' your browser probably does not accept session-cookies. (If you are getting this error only sporadically, though, it is probably due to the automatic logout after five minutes).
You will have to change this in order to use SignUp. Usually, you can find this property in your browser's prefernces or security settings. I have my browser ask me each time, if I want to accept a cookie or not.
